Eastern Illinois University(이스턴 일리노이 대학교)Softball Set To Host Two OVC Doubleheaders
EIU looks to finally get a full game in as they welcome Murray State to Charleston for a doubleheader Friday followed by Austin Peay Sunday afternoon. The Panthers have had over a week off with their last seven games cancelled due to severe weather.
The weather continues to take a toll on the softball schedule as this weekend's slate of games were originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. With the threat of severe weather this weekend the Murray State doubleheader was moved up to Friday while EIU's games against Austin Peay are still tentatively scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers look to maintain their top spot in the OVC after SIU Edwardsville dropped two games at Jacksonville State in their last outing. The Panthers are currently second overall in the conference narrowly edging out the Cougars based on record percentage. SIUE is 10-4 in the OVC.

Last Time Out
It has been over a week since the Panthers have been able to record a full game. EIU's most recent game was against Fort Wayne last Tuesday (Apr. 18) in which EIU grinded out a 1-0 win over the Mastodons.
The Panthers were able to shake off a little rust Wednesday afternoon hosting IUPUI, but could only make it into the top of the third inning before the game was forced to cancel due to severe weather.
Panther Rankings
Taylor Monahan looks to continue her 11-game hitting streak during Friday's doubleheader. The junior outfielder currently leads the team with a .372 batting average tying her for sixth in the OVC. Monahan also leads the team with 13 multiple hit games so far this year.
Monahan's hitting streak won't be the only streak on the line Friday as Jessica Wireman hopes to get her 10th win in a row against the Racers. Wireman is currently in a three-way tie for second in the OVC with a 7-1 conference record.
As a team, the Panthers have the third lowest ERA in conference play with 2.16. EIU is tied with SIU Edwardsville for least earned runs given up in OVC play having allowed 25 in their 12 conference games.
EIU leads the OVC with a .982 fielding percentage in conference games. The Panthers have committed only six errors in OVC play to lead the conference.
