The Eastern Illinois baseball team will travel to Murray, Kentucky for a three-game OVC series against Murray State. Murray State enters the weekend seventh in the OVC at 11-11/ 2-4 OVC.
The series is set to begin Friday at 1 p.m., leading into Saturday's mid-series game at 2 p.m., and finally concluding the series will be a 1 p.m. showdown on Sunday
Logan Beaman picked up his first win of the season tossing 6.2 innings on Wednesday against Robert Morris, striking out four batters, allowing five hits and two earned runs.
Josh Turnock leads the Panthers offense with a .400 average (12-for-30), with five RBIs, 15 total bases, six runs, five RBIs, two walks, and a home run.
Dougie Parks hit his fifth home run of the season Wednesday afternoon against Robert Morris. Parks now leads the Panthers in home runs (5), total bases (48), walks (12), doubles (7) and is in second in RBIs (18), hits (23), and runs (12).
Michael Starcevich picked up his fourth save of the season against Jacksonville State. With his fourth save Starcevich now ranks first in the OVC for saves. Starcevich also moved into the sixth spot in the EIU top 10 for saves.
EIU will go with their junior starting pitcher Tyler Jones to kick off the series on Friday. Alex Stevenson will get the ball to start the second game of the series on Saturday. The Panthers have yet to announce who will get the call to close out the series on Sunday
Eastern Illinois is playing in its 112th season of intercollegiate baseball. EIU has an all-time record of 1,761 and 1,561 loses. After their weekend series at Murray State the Panthers will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to take on Saint Louis University.
