ATLANTA – Looking to win the sixth conference championship in program history, the Georgia State women’s golf team will open the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Monday at the Robert Trent Jones Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

Georgia State has won five conference championships under head coach Cathy Mant, but will be looking for its first Sun Belt title and first conference championship since 2010, which would return to the Panthers to NCAA Regional play for the first time in seven years.

The Panthers are led by the underclassmen duo of sophomore Jemima Gregson and freshman Harmanprit Kaur. Gregson has four top 25 finishes this year and a 75.60 scoring average, while Kaur has five top 25 finishes and a 75.82 scoring average.

“Our regular season did not go the way that we expected, but the great thing is that we can turn it all around with a great performance this week,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “We have had success against several teams in the league this year and our team understands that if we play well for three-straight days, we can go back to postseason play.”

Kaur and Gregson will lead a line-up that will also include seniors Jooeun Bae and Solene Le Coz, along with redshirt-sophomore Emily Royer.

The field of 10 will play 18 holes each day, Monday through Wednesday. The winner will receive the Sun Belt’s automatic bid to NCAA Regional play.

Live scoring throughout the event can be found at Golfstat.com. After a practice round on Sunday, the championship will open with tee times at 9 a.m. ET on Monday. Georgia State will be paired with Georgia Southern and Little Rock going off Hole No. 1 on the first day.

With a win this week, Georgia State would advance to one of four NCAA Regional sites May 8-10. Regional sites include Albuquerque, N.M., Greenville, N.C., Lubbock, Texas, and Columbus, Ohio.
