The Greene County Partnership Tourism Department, in conjunction with East Tennessee State University’s Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) and Absolute Communications, will host a social media workshop on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Kathryn Leonard Administration Building, 129 W. Depot St.
Mark Bays of TSBDC will facilitate the event.
The sessions include “The Ins and Outs of Instagram for Business Owners,” designed to give business owners the latest updates on Instagram and advice on what to post through tips and strategies of successful local Instagram accounts. The speaker for the session is M. Valentina Escobar-Gonzales, founder of Beyond Engagement—Social Media Solutions.
In the afternoon, “Showing Up in a Digital World” will address ways to be in the right place to find the right audience by knowing who prospective clients are and when they need products or services. Two account executives with Absolute Communications, Emily Macbeth and Julie Pierson-Fields, will speak.
The final workshop, “Create a Clear, Consistent Message in Your Marketing,” will assist participants in creating a vision of their target audience and picking the channels that work best for a brand or business, as well as maintaining a consistent look. Rick Keller, managing director of Absolute Communications, will be the speaker.
The fee for the day is $30. Lunch will be provided by South State Contractors.
